The CERAP is currently being finalised. The plans are being prepared for publication and the consultants are drafting some project proposals in accordance with our priority actions. We plan to hold a whole of Nillumbik launch early in the new year.
Strathewen Environment Recovery Action Plan (Draft)
This website is maintained by members who will get distracted by weeds and other more important outdoor activities, so always check out Whats onfor dates of our activities and browse our contents list for grants and information.
Some of our ongoing activities are listed below. If you want more information email Kylee at enquiries@strathewenlandcare.org.au or phone 9714 8292.
Residents participating in the rabbit control program are receiving visits from the contractors in readiness for control programs in April. If you want to be involved contact Nillumbik Shire on 9433 3328
Strathewen's herbicide rebate will provide you with a rebate on the cost of you herbicide if you are spraying your own weeds. Alternatively, residents can participate in the Nillumbik Shire program which assists with the funding of a certified contractor.
There are a large number of erosion projects still scheduled. Contractor availability is a problem so landholders are being asked to be patient.
Stringybark Community Nursery is up and running. Let Kylee know if you would like to be informed about working bees.
Community Environment Recovery Action Plan - see above for more information.
Agricultural Chemical Users Course – residents are being funded to attend this course. You still have a chance to attend the 2011 course on November 10/11.
Chainsaw Course – Strathewen Landcare will fund members to do this course.
Roadside Weed Control – Strathewen Landcare is working with Acacia, Nillumbik Shire and our neighbouring landcare groups to map and control weeds on our roadsides. If you know of any infestations that you believe are not being treated please let us know.
